Well for something like a brush hog it should be in that position, but you shouldn't have to wire it there. So you have a problem with that part of the lift. I can't tell you how to fix it but know it should sit in the up position on its own. On my 841 I have never used it any other way but I also don't use the tractor for plowing so I don't need to use the draft position which by the way is when its down
