i was in a rollover accident in 1967 in a small 1962 mercury comet without seatbelts. we hit a culvert end at about 30 mph and rolled over twice. we both ended up in the backseat and some folks down the street came and helped us out. NOT A SCRATCH on either of us. darn lucky. even the deputy that investigated the accident said seatbelts would have probably killed both of us because the roof was caved in so badly. i started wearing seatbelts after that accident and still do to this day. ya just never know how fast and furious an accident can be. there is no time to think.
