Live on a small farm near Ogden, NW of Des Moines, IA. Family farm is an hour away with 2500 acres of corn/soybeans. Did custom hay work until a couple years ago when I quit at Iowa State U. and went to work for a private firm based in Indianapolis, same line of work, lot more $, and get to work out of my home here in Iowa although I travel a ton (90+ flights in 2006) so was too hard to make hay. I develop face to face and electronic training courses for the ag industry (green imlement guys, red guys, blue/yellow as well as major seed companies and pork, beef, sheep associations). Best job a guy could ask for besides farming.
