I sure like the bigger D and hundreds series AC's. Just about any IH I have seen was ready for major work (everyone keeps them till they are used up). Might find a JD 3xxx series fairly resonable with a lot of life left in it yet. Have to be a good deal to consider an older ford. However what ever you end up with make sure it has some weight to it. A 2-3000lb tractor (ford hunderd and early thousand series) isn't enough. Light duty for wagons may not sound like much but they weigh any where from 3-5000lbs. You get a light weight tractor and your not going to be happy. I'd look for something in or above 5000lbs. As far as mechnically goes, if you are not so inclined, hire a mechanic to look it over (just to much to list). At a min, find some who knows the model to look at it with ya.
