JT, This whole thing started over some folks telling me that the 1/2" thick mounting "plate" was used to move the wide front end "back" under the tractor. Yes, it would do just that, but that isn't why it was made aviable by IH. It's original purpose was to get that front end way the heck out there for all those thousands of beet toppers running around in the sugar beet fields in the '50s. Oh well. And so it goes, Allan
