Hi, I am in need of a pickup truck to do misc hauling, pulling a tractor on trailer short distance, etc....cant afford much...need to know if this will work for my needs....I came across a 1983 Ford F-250. It has a 301 ? engine out of a 1977 Ford LTD, instead of the 351 engine that I think it would have had from the factory....the engine in there now has 70,000 miles....4 wheel drive works, auto trans good shape. My question is how does the 301 engine compare to the engine that should be in there...will this truck still be able to pull a trailer, etc...someone said it might be better than what was in there from the factory...I dont know about that...can you help? Under the hood was a sticker that said somehting about a 5.7 liter engine specs....this truck is less than $1000. Thanks for your help...
