Have had a over sensitive brake switch go out inside the transmission, as it kept shifting down from overdrive to direct all the time. No tranny problems besides that and have 110,000 miles on it and it runs great. Change trans. fluid every 20,000 once they get over 100,000. You hear alot of horror stories about autos, but I can't complain, knock on wood.
