Is it at all possible to put a turbocharger on a 226 gas engine off a Allis Chalmers D-17? The turbo I have is a Airesearch M10. Inside of the turbine housing it says its .48. And on the compressor side, where the forced air comes out, it says its a .42. I think it had a waste gate on it originally, but I was going to seal that up will a metal bracket(same bracket that was going to hold the exhaust elbow.) I think the opening is big enough. It looks like a 1-1/2"x2" opening into the turbine, and maybe a 1-1/2" or 2" hole with a 1" wastegate hole. On the compressor side it looks like 1-1/2" or 2" intake, and 1-1/4" outlet. Its got the normal oil pressure fittings, and it also has water fittings for extra cooling. I am just curious if it would work on a 226 gas engine. I am kind of thinking it won't since its a smaller engine. It would sure drink fuel if it did work, which I don't think will hurt that bad as I just shred a little and would use it for plowing also. But I need some opinions please, Thanks!
