This reminds me of an old family story involving my dad. He had just taken delivery of a brand new John Deere 70. He always carried a shotgun on the tractor when he was plowing. Well a pheasant flew up ahead of him, he pulled out the shotgun, took aim, and shot the muffler off the new tractor!! He figured if he went to the dealer he'd gotten the tractor from to get a new muffler he would take a lot of ribbing, so he sent my mother to another dealer. Lo and behold, the first person mom ran into was a friend of theirs with a good sense of humor and an even better memory!! So needless to say, that was one he NEVER lived down!!
