I hope you mis-typed something Ed, because that doesn't make sense. Using the axle is always dangerous, and more-so on a tractor with a high CG. Using the end of the backblade to attach the chain is better than the upper 3-point link. But we have to face it, pulling trees & such is dangerous even when using the tractor hitch. So, it's all relative.
The lower you hook up the chain, the safer you are. Unfortunately, we all know that the higher you hook the chain, the more traction you get.... So, what will we do, 'just this one time'....???? --->Paul
