I'm with casey on this one. I owned an early 8000 without the over-under transmission. I was fortunate to buy this tractor in 1982 with only 1200 original hours on the clock and ran it to 7000 hrs. with no problems. Tractor was very, very good on fuel economy and had many parts interchangeable with my 5000. It definately doesn't have the resale value of the 4020(and its 24 volt electrical headache) but that is a great advantage as ,for my money , you'll end up with a better tractor for a heck of a lot less money. Incidently, I'm still on the look-out for another 8000 without a cab as they are by far the best looking tractor of that era.
