Steve you have got the rotor gears back in time, it is probably similar to an I.H. in that the rotor will go on in 2 different positions ,you can get the mag. in time with the engine by either taking back off the rotor and housing that you have worked on and turning it half a round and bolt it back down , or you can un-bolt the mag from engine and turn it half a round . but before you do any of this see if you can find a pointer or indicator around the crankshaft pulley on the front of engine, if you are uncertain then remove #1 sparkplug and crank slowly until you can feel an intake ,then compression( you will be able to tell when the stoke is near top) then see where #1 plug wire is located on the Mag. cap ,to be in time the rotor needs to be pointing to this spot. not all that hard to do,so go to it.
