Any source of information relating to safe operation of equipment would be welcome and helpful. In 33 years of USAF flying (10,000 hours) I've never failed to benefit from the revelation and exposure to the safety-related experiences of my fellow airmen. I've had a few experiences and blunders to contribute over the years, as well, and I attribute my survival, in part, to the lessons learned by myself and others. Above, awareness is most important! And, arrogance has no place.
