If its NOT feasible I WOULD NOTTTTTTTT invest (and recommend others not) UNLESS it was still worth it to me to be totally self sufficient if I was off grid or wanted to be ready if the grid went down AND THATS PRICELSS FOR SOME WHO SO CHOOSE.
Hey I cant make anyone else's decision or have any cost figures for maintenance and longevity, each have to make THEIR own analysis and decision based on THEIR NEEDS AND PRIORITIES AND FINANCES.
