The km 3000 monitor on my Kinze 12 row planter started acting up last year. The alarm would not always sound. Tap on it and then it would sound, or it might not until you tap 3-4 times. The blinking lights work so I can tell if it is planting and all the other functions work perfect but when a light stops blinking the alarm might not sound or when I pickup around the end it might not sound. So at end of last season I send it away for repair. Get it back with a work order saying they could not replicate problem. Works perfect everytime for them. This is accompanied with a bill for $125. This year I start planting and within 1st. round the alarm quits sounding. Tap on it and it may work for 2 rounds then quit. Same as last year. Near by place that buys up planters and chops them to make 2-row food plot planters has a 12 row vm-1600 monitor for sale. $400. Looks to be the exact same monitor as mine. What to do. Send mine back for another $125 with no guarantee they will correct it this time? Or get the $400 one?
