Hey tough way to start a new job. Were you working for the farmer who owns the truck or the Electrition / contractor or are you acting as your own (sub) contractor? That incident would generally be covered by WorkSafe / Workers Comp and the claim would be against your employer.
I'm sure you paid and probably still do pay the WCB for your farm if you had employees or even yourself working on your farm. I do and while I've never filed a claim or had an employee file, you do need to make sure your paper work is in order.
Hope it works out ok for you. I broke the bottom off my front tooth off when a wrench slipped a few years ago. I just paid for it myself, it was only a couple hundred bucks and I can write that off. If it was an employee it would have been a pile of paper work but probably wouldn't have cost me anything.... although I bet the bill to the WCB would be a lot more than $200.
