I have heard everything except what engine you are talking about, flat head engines have the valves in the block and another head will not work on most of these engines, as for small block chevys, they have nothing to do with a flat head, I would sujest you try to find the head that is for the engine you have, and as an engine rebuilder, beware when trying to change heads to something besides what you have, My question is, again, which engine are you talking about? I may have the head.
