Admittedlly some brands are "better" than others; however you have already written the most important of all. Regularly change all fluids and filters following the mfgrs. recommendations. Oil does not wear out- but the additives do- and contamination will cause acids to form in the crankcase. Have you ever seen metal parts rust/corrode above the oil level in machinery, or smelled old oil? It's the acids in the old oil that do it. The synthetic oils used also recommend testing your oil when extended changes are followed, Check the Amsoil, Redline, etc. websites to confirm this. A dollar and this post will buy you a cup of coffee somewhere. Ray,IN
