I think all of us who love old tractors have appreciation for the "good old days". For me, they weren't all that long ago. I bought my first house in 1985. The farm just down the road had no indoor plumbing. He and his family had an outhouse and a hand pump in the kitchen, as well as a woodstove to cook with. If they wanted hot water in July, they lit the stove to boil it. I used to visit him quite often. He and his family were very happy people. Neither of my parents had electricity or running water as children. It all seemed very natural to me in 85 that he didn't have or need running water. A few years later he sold a piece of his farm and had a toilet, running water and a stove put in for his wife before he passed away. That was only 32 years ago. Sorry for your uncle. Sounds like he was very happy.
