After a little research I see there are other one tons of that vintage with those style wheels. I guess we hardly ever saw a one ton truck here in those years. Farmers either bought the bigger 2 ton or else made do with the smaller 3/4 ton. Here is a pic of a 52 GMC one ton I found on the net.
