I was needing to pull the gearbox on my rhino brush hog. The box was bolted through the deck with six 3/4" bolts. Normally, I would have fought with wrenching them off for a couple of hours, bracing a wrench below. Then I would climb out and try to turn the nut from above. Then the bottom wrench would fall, and then repeat until I am tired and get the torch. This time, I skipped the wrenches, and grabbed the torch first. I torched off all six nuts and pulled the box. I was proud of myself for saving time and energy. But why weren't the cut off bolts falling through? Tried nocking them out, nothing. Crawled under, and the bolt heads were welded to the deck. Dang it.
