Some thoughts on global warming / not global warming / climate change.

- A couple of early explorers were walking along when they got to the Mississippi. They had been drinking something and decided to relieve themselves in the river. As they had recently left Europe where sanitary systems consisted of a hole in the wall and open ditches that ran directly into rivers and streams one of them opined as to whether or not they should be relieving themselves in the river, whereupon the other one replied "Do not be an idiot my man - what's two people peeing in a river of this size going to do?"

Three hundred years later we have the answer.

So what is a couple of factories/power stations spewing CO2 into this vast atmospheric ocean going to do to it?

- A few years ago when the Southern States were experiencing mega heat-waves and mega-droughts (or were they just lying scientists too?) the Deepwater Horizon oil rig blew up in the Gulf of Mexico. Prior to that there were some (lying?) NOAA reports that the Gulf Stream was showing signs of slowing down or changing direction. A year or two after that some rogue on the internet suggested that the oil floating around in the Gulf might actually stop the Gulf Stream entirely. If the Gulf Stream did slow down significantly or even stop the East Coast of the United States and a lot of Britain and Europe would probably get colder.

Maybe they did it on purpose.

- Just as recently as last month the NOAA reported that the surface temperature of the Pacific Ocean was the highest ever recorded. We live in the interior of northern British Columbia in the middle of what most people around the world call the Rocky Mountains, about 600 miles north of Seattle. We should experience 'continental' weather - cold in the winter and warm in the summer. So far this winter we have had one week where the temperatures were -30C at night. We are currently hosting the 'Canada Winter Games'; in the middle of winter, in the mountains, 600 miles north of Seattle - the organizers had to pack up the long track speed skaters and move them to a city another 300 miles north of us because the outdoor track melted.

- A couple of years ago the anti-man-made-global-warmers were declaring that, even if the world was warming up it was because the sun was heating up the whole solar system. Now that they have some polar vortexes to 'prove' they were 'right all along' what happened to the new hot sun? A month ago there was a report from NASA that in some places on Mars the temperature was warmer than it was in places on Earth. So, if the sun is still heating up the solar system then where is this record setting cold in some parts of North America and Europe coming from? (But now they are telling us that the sun is about to enter a 'cooling-off' period. Boy it sure is hard to keep up with all this stuff.)

- So where does that leave us? Or, more specifically, our descendents. Chemtrails/contrails? HAARP? Meteorological cataclysm? Anarchy? Chaos? I think some of you ex-military (air force?) know what's going on but then you're sworn to secrecy. Tough stuff.

Today's Featured Article - An AC Model M Crawler - by Anthony West. Neil Atkins is a man in his late thirties, a mild and patient character who talks fondly of his farming heritage. He farms around a hundred and fifty acres of arable land, in a village called Southam, located just outside Leamington Spa in Warwickshire. The soil is a rich dark brown and is well looked after. unlike some areas in the midlands it is also fairly flat, broken only by hedgerows and the occasional valley and brook. A copse of wildbreaking silver birch and oak trees surround the top si ... [Read Article]
