You have the answer right there. you must have a 3 post solenoid, not the original 2 post. just take the 2 red wires off the 3rd solenoid post, and put them on the post with the + batt cable.

There is a small copper fusable link between the posts that can burn out. or sometimes is not on the starter solenoid when new... that wipe them out along with long cranking with mild arching from sitting outside in the weather. At any rate, if you just put all the wires on the same post, excluding, (of course,) the spade start wire, you should be off and running.
