I've decided that new equipment has taken lots of feeling out of things. It may be nostalgia, but harvest with the old Massey combine and old truck felt way different growing up. Don't mention how much dirt was in the bottom of the bathtub from that dirty combine.
Don't get me wrong, I love the air conditioning and the fact that there haven't been any breakdowns. It sure is lots less stressful. I just ran the 58 GMC to town with a load of wheat and it was such a delight. The old girl doesnt go over 49 miles an hour, so it was a leasurly trip home (and way more leasurely on the way there with 200 bushels). I just don't get that in the big Freightliner with the radio on and the air blowing.
