Some guys asked some questions about the truck transmission (see post yesterday about grin truck speedometer).
The transmission is a Muncie SM420. It is the same one used in lots of vehicles from 1948-68. Most applications have plastic speedo gears but they have this special setup if the transmission mounted parking brake drum was ordered. This is a grain truck so it has that. That is where the issue is. As someone mentioned yesterday, this stuff is necessary to get out of the way of that drum.
A guy that I know is pretty sure he has the connections to get one, but I am not holding my breath.
I have a very good picture of it but I need to start up the computer to load it. I am currently in bed with the nasty stomach flu working both ends so that isn't happening tonight!
