I don't speed. It's 23 miles from my dive on a state highway to the county seat. At 55 MPH thats 26 minutes. At 60 it's 23. That's not accounting for other traffic that may keep you from going 60. Average traffic stop is 10 minutes or more plus the fine. Some how that just doesn't make sense. You really got to be going a long ways for speeding to really make much of a difference in travel time.
I drove a lot between Ft Riley KS and my home. Right at 600 miles. At an average speed of 70 with no stops that's about 8:35 travel time. Go 75 you save a whopping 35 minutes.
Here in west MN most cops will give you a least 5 MPH over on the highway. But that depends. A girl my wife worked with a couple of years ago got stopped and ticketed for 4 over. Guess the cop was having a bad day.
