NEBeef: I use a Quality Liquid Feed product. It is a cane molasses based product with the minerals already in it. I do not have to cut it with water. They are all over the world so you should be able to find a dealer.
I buy 500 gallons at a time. That is the least they will deliver free here. It keeps well, so some years I use a lot of it and other years not as much.
I usually get about 5-8 gallons per bale. It depends on the type of hay. In coarse grass you can get more in as the bale will wick it in better. In straw you will have to stick the bale in more places to get as much in. The straw will crush as it is bales and will not wick the molasses in as fast.
