Im In Michigan Built a Tri Axle Gooseneck Dump Trailer. 1st thing is all trailers over 5200lbs must be titled and that takes a VIN#.I went to Secretery of State office to get the trailer plated. Was told they need a weight slip from a cert. scale and a safety inspection done by the police. Had the trailer weighed 6300 lbs. Called the Washtenaw county Sherriff. They done the the safety inspection signed of on the paper the Secretery of state office gave me. Took the paper work back to the Secretery of State They gave me a VIN # and a Tempery plate Now I am waiting on The State Police to come out a afix the Vin tag. And then back to the Secretery of State to get a real plate. Seems like a lot of B.S. for a trailer.
