Those are also known as "bearing buddies". Used commonly on boat trailers. Most likely not a good idea for a couple of reasons... First, they over-lube the bearings - that is they let you displace ALL of the air space in the hub. Grease expands when it warms up and pushes out. Second, it will blow out the seal on the backside of the hub, allowing road dirt to enter and destroy the bearing. Third, it encourages you to never take the hub apart to clean and inspect the condition of the bearings. I see a good many boat trailers on the side of the road with failed bearings. Personally, I would take them apart and pack them the old fashioned way.
