Lots of folks have had trouble with the 5-speed Getrags; my '93 dually has a little over twice the miles as yours and has never missed a lick. A couple of years ago, I had the clutch replaced and asked the mechanic to check out a small transmission leak; he said a nut had backed off a little; he replaced it and a seal and no more trouble. I'm a retired farmer/cattleman and pulled a 32 ft gooseneck cattle trailer and a 27 ft lowboy all over the Southeastern U.S. The thing is totally stock and the only things....except wear items......that've been replaced are the radiator and the starter. It was slow off the mark with the loaded cattle trailer behind it, but after the turbocharger spooled up, it would run with the big boys. I've got a new truck that I usually drive, but I don't see ever getting rid of the old dually................(I recommend the turbo diesel forum; don't have a link, but it's easy to find.)
