I've owned a c.r. since 1997... the same one. I've got close to 2 acres with over 70 oak trees.. I would have died by 2000 without it... It's probably the best piece of yard equipment I've ever had. I've pulled it with a 12 hp cub cadet, a 20 hp cub cadet and now with a gravely 34 hp zero turn...
high vacuum... mulches leaves into small pieces and sucks the ground clean... it doesn't like them piled up...and works better when evenly distributed over the ground... wet leaves are not a problem but are harder dumping the bag.
I've used it so many years that the vacuum housing and impeller wore out this year... after 16 years.. I called to buy a replacement set and they covered it under warranty... UNDER WARRANTY ON A 16 YEAR OLD MACHINE !! you can tell I'm well pleased... just got it put back together last nite and will do the yard on Saturday... takes about 3 hours to do the 2 acres and usually dump about 5 loads in the natural areas... it would take days with a rake and tarp...
I usually mulch till about december... then use the c.r. till march... you won't be disappointed
john
btw mine is the original 'classic' 5 hp and I think 25 cu ft capacity... they can fit any mower deck.
