Gunk is probably about as good as it gets, but even that stuff has been watered down considerably when compared to what it was 20 to 30 years ago. I can remember using that stuff when it was powerful enough that great caution was needed to NOT get it on your skin because it WOULD burn you, and believe me, it WOULD burn you.
This stuff you can get today is mild enough, and weak enough that you actually immerse your fingers in it, and nothing will happen.
