Guido, 10 years ago DR wanted to fuse L4 & L5. I said no way. Alternative was exercise, walking turned out to be the best thing to keep back mussles strong to hold spine in place.
No lifting heavy objects. No riding on a mower that bounces the back, had neighbor mow using my mower. Had to give up goldwing and caddy. SUV, mini van, and truck seats only. Mowing with a IH C is OK. Have to go slower with my Jubilee. George
