I've sprayed my vinyl shutters several times using my air compressor and old Devilbiss spray gun. I used Sherwin Williams Super exterior latex paint. They were painted in 1997 and still look good. A painting contractor was painting the trim on the house next to me last year and they used Sherwin Williams exterior Duration paint. They used it on their shutters using a Wineberry color. I'm thinking about repainting them when the weather cools. You would get overspray on everything using a spray gun. I spray my shutters out around the garden where there's no houses. I use a warm water soapy mix and a brush to clean them, then I rinse them and let them dry. I don't use a primer on them I give them 2 coats and let them dry which doesn't take long. I keep a brush handy in case I get a run. Hal
