No it's not directed at you Puddles. I'd trust your welding and advice any day. It was directed at trucker. It was in reference to your post though, concerning flux-core and round patches. He'd have a lot more credibility if he had posted about the round patches and flux-core first, not after the fact. What I don't get is that people in the past have asked about repairing leaking/rusted air tanks and been told the dangers involved. Someone else posts and all of a sudden it isn't so dangerous. Metal core flux-core is getting popular. I've never used it but it's like the best of MIG and the best of flux-core because there is no slag to chip but it has high deposition rates. For critical stuff, I agree TIG is the best. Sorry for the confusion. Dave
