Lanse isn't the only one who's been told he shouldn't try to repair an air compressor tank. Look in the archives. No wonder people get confused, when there's conflicting suggestions. If anyone has a welder and doesn't know how to set it or what type of wire or rods to use, the last thing they should be doing is trying to weld a leaking air compressor tank! It may be the last time they ever fix anything. I'm certain that if Puddles or Welding man wanted to fix a compressor tank, they'd at least be competant enough to do it properly or just get a new tank. Someone using a cheap 110 volt wire feed welder with low strength flux-core wire and burning holes in the tank obviously shouldn't be trying to weld a compressor tank. Lanse does ask questions which is how you learn things and was smart enough to just get a new compressor. IF the tank in question here had a patch hold for 15 years in addition to the original life, he's got his money out of it. If all you're doing is occasionally filling tires, you can get a new compressor for under $100. Why mess with a rusted out tank? Dave

Dad got her out there, explained how the clutch was the same as in our o
