Your "motor" was probably not mfg by Lauson Power Products(Later absorbed by Tecumseh),Power Products was a major mfg of small engines and several outboard companys used their 2stroke engines as a powerhead on their"motors".Basically a lawnmower engine, mounted atop the drive unit. The T-626-63 3573889,I believe would be the Lauson engine code and serial no.Phelon and Repco were ignition parts mfgs.Several"Jet"type outboards were around in the early to mid 60s,including Mid-Jet,by Schnacke Mfg of Evansville,IN.(Mid-Jet 2.4hp M-2.1961..3hp M-3,& 2.09hp M-4,1962-1965.)which seems most like your description.Basics on this unit are covered in Intertec's Old Outboard Motor Service Manual,Vol 1...Another great source of info is the Antique Outboard Motor Collectors Club easily found by punching "Antique Outboard" or such into a search engine.
