If you can't get a quieter muffler from the dealer,......Screw a deflector onto the existing muffler outlet..directing the sound Down, away from your ears...It really helped my McColluch 380...!!! Packing some brass wool (loosely) into the muffler will also help....If there is room... You may have to make a screen to keep it away from the exhaust port.. You can get the Brass "Scrubers" for dish washing at any grocery store...Pull one apart...don't cut it, to keep the brass in a nice ball....
