When you use the search, the one up in the right corner marked "Search For:", always put in more than one term. If you just search for a single word, and that word happens to be popular, it will fail in the results it provides. There are too many posts, many millions, and other articles and the program has a problem when the numbers get too high for how many returns it's supposed to give you.
One example is "orchard". If you just put orchard in, the program will fail. If you qualify that a bit more, it will work. For example, "Orchard oliver" will work fine, "Orchard Farmall" will work fine.
One term won't work 90% of the time. I hope to figure this out, but I've been working on it a couple of weeks. When I do, it will probably only give you an error message to use more than one term, and that makes sense because searching for a single word, almost never is logical when you have so many posts categorized. It's similar to going to google and typing tractor, the returns wouldn't be meaningful unless you added "pulling" or "antique" etc, and even then without more terms, you probably won't find what you're looking for.
