Hello Wayne, Try posing your question on just the Ford discussion forum. I would like to know the answer myself. I asked the question back in 1998. My answer was: just as the IT manual stated, unbolt the filer bracket holding the tube and filter. That is suppose to allow you to 'fish' the whole assembly out. At least on my year tractor I say it is impossible and have taken pictures to prove it. I hope somebody can prove me wrong. I talked to my use-to-be Ford dealer and he said out through the hole after the PTO is removed???? My pictures show about a 1 inch clearance to pull through a 2 1/2" diameter paper filter, working from top where the cover has been removed.
