The timing of the cam is easy the crank mark is on the tooth and the cam mark is located at the the bottom between 2 teeth, when placed properly they will line up. Ignition is determined by the push rod due to the enging being timed or 180 degrees out. I Generally put a chalk mark on the flywheel and on outside of the shroud makes the timing lite easier to use. The timing of gears came from Chiltons Small Engine Repair manuel. Goog luck.
