We're making around 7hp per cube. Highly boosted 505 cid engine with an efficient cylinder head. But we're running at about 7 atmosphere's of pressure in the intake at the valve.
So does that mean it's 1hp per cube naturally aspirated on a 505 cid engine? It's not uncommon at all.
It comes down to how much air you can pack in a cylinder. Making the engine bigger isn't the answer if you can't feed it.
