What is the cranking psi,get the engine warm and take both plugs out and put throttle at full throttle and crank over several times until compression gets to its highest then write down and check the other side. Factory was around 60, with M&W pistons around 90-120. A Good torque and hp engine should be around 200 psi you might be there. Did you try to retard distributer?
