I was the guy with the VAC at Wichita in the 3250 Div 3 class that finished in last place. My VAC does relatively well in local "brush" pulls up to 3250. In a 2750 class it is definitely at its best. The Wichita pull was the first passes I made after basically rebuilding the tractor from the bellhousing back. Dad and I had just installed the 12/67 pinion and bull gears thinking it would really help it out in the 3250 class. They didn"t make as much difference as I had hoped they would. It was like bringing a knife to a gun fight. The tractor come out of gear on the first pass, and the second pass it ran out of power. I would think it would do better in the Div 2 3000 pound class, but you are still at a disadvantage to other tractors that are bigger even if they are kept stock cubic inches. I don"t even know if that is where it would belong. With me being over 200 pounds, it isn"t possible to make 2500 for me. It boils down to how much you want to spend on one and who shows up to pull in your class. For a low dollar puller, I think my VAC does as well as any other VAC I have ever seen other than a 201 powered rig, but even if I wanted to spend to money to bore and stroke an engine, a VAC isn"t where I would put my money. -Adam
