1000yd, Getting taller pistons is easy (and cheap on cars and Farmalls/Olivers/AC's - pretty much anything but a Deere).
Lengthening rods is inexpensive and works better anyways. Heavy pistons = bad.
If you do it yourself, you need a jig to keep everything the right length and straight.
Save yourself the trouble and have someone else do it, I've used Merfeld for quite a few sets. 563-582-8710
Another alternative, If it's a styled G, see if you can find an unstyled "flathead".
