Getting ready to paint a new BBQ smoker and fire box. This is all new, no old paint except what was on the piece of 20 inch tubing for the smoker. Looks like a black rust preventive paint, not the direct burial coating.
I know sand blasting would be the best, but that's not in the plan for now, maybe this winter. Meanwhile, any practical cleaning methods? I've flap disc ground all the welds, knocked off the weld beads, etc.
Any favorite rattle can paints? How about primer? I've got to get this ready for the 4th, could go back and repaint it off season, but for now?
