Your compressor is probably too small unless you keep waiting for it to catch up. My compressor is about 4 actual HP, 60 gallon that puts out 15 cfm. The compressor needs to cycle, yours won't, so you will have to wait for it to rebuild pressure. For automotive paint the topcoat will take a 1.3 mm to 1.5 mm tip. 1.5 mm is probably ok for most primers, 1.8 for high build primers. Your gun was not designed for latex. If you use it for that my guess is 1.8-2.0-up, if it works at all. Better to get an airless sprayer or just brush or roll it on. Actually I prefer a roller for latex instead of an airless sprayer.
