Had a car 7 or 8 years ago that had a rust hole in a quarter panel. Car wasn't ate up, just someone had used a torch at the spot (I guess??)..
Anyway, the hole was about the size of a quarter and I had to go thru inspection in a few days.... Not having any body tools or experience, or time... I just figgered on a quick patch and fix it right later...
Only thing I had on hand was a stick of that 2 part epoxy putty (stuff you cut off a chunk and work it together in your fingers).
Cleaned both sides to bare metal and mushed up a plug of the stuff and pushed it in from the back side... With wet fingers on both hands I just kept working it til it overlapped the hole inside and out then just concentrated on the outside. Wet fingers and a few drops of water really worked to smooth/blend the stuff to the rest of the fender. 20 minutes after I had a clean hole/area, I brushed on some rustoleum... Got me thru inspection and someone liked the car better than I did so I sold it....
FF and I ran across the guy today driving the same old VW with the same "patch" and faded rustolium paint...
7x years is pretty good for a pullit outta yerass repair huh????
