well guys, everything was going great yesterday, got my 600 fenders and hood ready to spray the finish coat. Got all but the backsides done and Bam ! smoke rolled from my compressor motor.
compressor is about 2yr old ,used very little cambell hausfield 2stage with a 5hp Magnetec Century 22amp motor.
We took the motor apart and the copper windings in one spot are toast.
What would cause such sudden failure as this, compressor was running when the smoking started and i shut it down quickly.
like i said, this compressor is like new and used very little.
