I am having trouble getting my pony motor to rev up allow me to start the diesel. I have cleared out the fuel tank and carby, I have an electric start and the pony starts straight away. I have taken the air intake off to check the venturi and butterflies. The choke is off and the butterfly fully open and there is plently of fuel spraying into the intake. If I spray (areostart ether)into intake it makes no difference so I dont think it is a fuel problem. I dont know much about magneto ignition but only once did it fully rev up and it wont do it again it just revs a little. It seems to be getting good spark and I tried different leads and plugs but its still the same. I removed the distributer cap and cleaned the rotor button and cap (one of the carbons was a little damaged on one edge but should still work). I am going to borrow a cap to see if that helps, I"m just wondering if the magneto has points and a condensor maybe this is the reason why it wont rev up. Has it got advance mechamism that maybe is rusted up as it has been sitting in a shed for a number of years. If anyone can help that would be great. Thanks
